Meet the Team

Celeste Angus - Centre Manager
Kia ora, my name is Celeste Angus
I am a Qualified and Registered Early Childhood Teacher. I have a Bachelor of Teaching (Early Childhood Education) from The Open Polytechnic of New Zealand. Before gaining my degree I started my Early Childhood Education journey with my own children through Playcentre before going on to study and then work as a teacher.
I am passionate about working with pre-school age children and being part of their life long learning journey, working alongside their families here at Discovery Preschool. I believe every child is an individual with their own amazing strengths and abilities that they continue to develop through their lives.

Professional Development

Discovery encourages all its teachers to undertake continual learning and development and a healthy professional development budget is provided for this purpose. We support our teachers from the beginning of their careers with an in-depth advice and guidance programme to support provisionally registered teachers to reach their full teacher registration – once this is obtained teachers are encouraged to follow their interests and passions to keep up with the latest advances in Early childhood Educations theory’s, research and developments.

Discovery is a member of the Early Childhood Council which is an independent early childhood support and advice group which also provides targeted training in the sectors latest developments.
